Well known to most Canadians, Turgeon, a former competitor, was the best downhill skier at the 2003 Alpine World Ski Championships. Joining her was Huot, a medal winner at Sydney and Athens and a fierce competitor who won four bronze medals in swimming at the Beijing Paralympic Games, 2008. On hand as good will ambassadors for Right To Play, both athletes engaged in humorous give and take with Yanagawa, and helped to demonstrate some product features, and provided lucky journalists with signed Right To Play promotional red balls at the end of the presentation. Right To Play is a primary Mitsubishi charity and these two exceptional athletes were meant to represent the performance, sports heritage and athleticism that are inherent in all Mitsubishi vehicles. In 2008 Mitsubishi Motor Sales of Canada gave approximately $480,000 in direct cash contributions to Right To Play. Currently operating in 23 countries, Right To Play is an athlete driven international organization that uses specially designed sport and play programs to improve health, build life skills, and foster peace for children and communities affected by war, poverty and disease. Headquartered in Toronto, Ontario, Right To Play is headed by the legendary Norwegian speed skater Johann Koss, a four time Olympic gold medalist. Right To Play is also supported by an international team of top athletes from more than 40 different countries who generously donate their time to give back through sport.
