Having moved past this incident, you can imagine our surprise when Tyler arrive home from school a week later and announced that his wallet had been returned to him with all of its contents intact. It appears that a young lady found the wallet and dropped it off at the front office of St. Ignatius of Loyola High School. Unfortunately, this honest individual neglected to leave her name or any method of contact, thereby preventing us from thanking her directly. We felt that a story such as this might be worth printing in the Letters to the Editor, in as much as it reaffirms our belief that people are generally honest and caring. With so many negative stories filling the newscasts, my wife and I find it refreshing to hear a tale that is both positive and heartwarming, and we wanted to share it with your readers. To the unidentified person who found Tyler's wallet, we would like to extend our sincerest thanks. Not only did you return his wallet, but by your actions, you demonstrated that honesty and decency are alive and well in today's society. All residents are welcome to attend this public meeting. The Town of Oakville is in the midst of planning Queen Elizabeth Park Community Centre (QE Park). The Town of Oakville will be hosting a public information meeting to discuss the three design options--each of which incorporates a community and recreation centre with dedicated arts and culture space. Information from this meeting, along with input from stakeholder groups will be presented to the Budget Committee in late February 2009 as part of the 10-year capital forecast. At that time, the Budget Committee will make a recommendation to Council.
