OAKVILLE BEAVER Saturday, March 28, 2009 · 8 Senior perishes after collision A 79-year-old Oakville man has died from injuries he received in a car accident on Wednesday. Halton police said the man was driving northbound on Eighth Line shortly after 2 p.m. when he collided with a Honda Civic that was travelling eastbound on Upper Middle Road. At the time of the collision, no injuries were reported that needed medical attention. Some time later, the 79-year-old was at his Oakville home when he went into medical distress. Emergency Medical Services personnel were called and transported the man to hospital, but he passed away the following day. The cause of death was a head injury, which is believed to have occurred during the accident. The name of the deceased is not being released at this time and no charges have been laid. The driver of the Honda, a 40year-old Oakville man, was not injured in the accident. Members of the Halton Regional Police Service Collision Reconstruction Unit have taken over the investigation. Any witnesses to this collision, who have not already spoken to police, are asked to contact Detective Constable Steve Long of the Major Crime Bureau-Collision Reconstruction Unit at 905-8254747, ext. 2354.
