The three students spearheaded the grade eight used book sale with the intention of donating half the proceeds to OTMH and using the rest for their school library. Summer Swings Supporting OTMH At the Oakville Hospital Foundation we are very fortunate to have a number of community partnered events taking place this summer which are raising funds for OTMH's priority equipment needs. Valley View Golf Tournament ­ June 20, 2009 ­ Glen Abbey Golf Course The Valley View neighbourhood in Oakville raised more than $17,000 for OTMH last year and raised more than $22,000 at this year's tournament. Oakville Italian Men's Golf Tournament ­ July 3, 2009 ­ Glen Abbey Golf Course The Oakville Italian Club's annual golf tournament has raised more than $200,000 for OTMH over the last 29 years. This year marks the 30th anniversary of the tournament. Royal Windsor Pub Golf Tournament ­ July 12, 2009 ­ Indian Wells Golf Course This is the first year that the Royal Windsor Pub's golf tournament will be supporting OTMH. OTMH Charity Golf Tournament ­ August 19, 2009 ­ Piper's Heath Golf Club Presented by McDonald's of Oakville and Cross Avenue Auto, this is the 30th year of this tournament. Mags Shorey's Tree Dedication Ceremony On Tuesday, June 9th, Halton Healthcare Services and Oakville Hospital Foundation representatives were on hand to honour and thank Mags Shorey. A tree was planted in the OTMH garden with a plaque to honour and recognize Mags' contributions and efforts over her two year tenure as Chair, Board of Directors of the Oakville Hospital Foundation. Mags joined the Foundation's Board in 2000, and has served on several of its committees. Mags was also Vice Chair of the Halton Healthcare Services Board that oversees Oakville-Trafalgar Memorial Hospital. Mags became Chair of the Foundation in June 2007 and has worked diligently to keep the Foundation on course. She has a wonderful sense of humour and always makes a point of recognizing the efforts of others. Mags has met the challenges she has faced over her tenure as Chair with grace. The Oakville Hospital Foundation and Board of Directors has benefited from her wisdom and look forward to working with her in the future. Thank you for a job well done.
