OAKVILLE BEAVER Thursday, November 5, 2009 · 18 Humane Society holds adopt-a-thon to reduce shelter's cat population This year's extended kitten season, combined with the current cat overpopulation problem, has left the Oakville & District Humane Society (ODHS) bursting at the seams with cats of every age and description. "We are experiencing a cat crisis and need to find homes for our wonderful cats and kittens as soon as possible," said ODHS Executive Director Johanne Golder. In an effort to find loving, `forever' homes for these fabulous felines, the ODHS is running a Cat Adopt-A-Thon until the end of the year. The cat adoption fee will be half price at $75 for altered cats and $125 for unaltered (with a $50 spay/neuter reimbursement) plus tax and includes vaccines up to date, microchipping, deworm and de-flea, collar, tags, starter food, six weeks of pet insurance and a feline best friend for life.
