OAKVILLE BEAVER Friday, November 6, 2009 · 14 IROQUOIS RIDGE CRAFT SALE SATURDAY: The Spirit of the Holidays -- Iroquois Ridge High School's annual marketplace craft show will be held on Saturday, Nov. 7. Hand-fused glass, gourmet chocolate, white pottery craft and precious gem jewelery will all be available at the sale to be held from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at the high school located at 1123 Glenashton Dr. Iroquois Ridge High School and its collaborative councils have invited the participation of area artisans and vendors to create a broad offering for the community. Proceeds of the show help to finance many of the school's extracurricular programs. Last year, vendors wowed a sell-out crowd offering home accessories, fashion finds and unique gifts for the holidays. The one-day sale event takes place in the "atrium-style main hall" and the main cafeteria of the school. Shoppers can also enjoy a full range of good eats while shopping. New at this year's show will be Melinda Titley's designer cupcakes, Claire Lawrence's hand-crafted jewellery and Lynn Petruskavich's thought spots. The show is fast becoming a new local tradition and is a must visit on the pre-holiday sale circuit. It's a useful life-skill lesson for students about improving their own environment through their own individual and collaborative support of the event.
