Halton police say the three men entered the store at 570 Kerr St. shortly after 11 p.m. The lone male working at the time was assaulted as one of the suspects held the man while another held a handgun to him. The third suspect removed an undisclosed amount of money from the cash register and stole an undetermined number of cigarette packages before the trio fled out the front door of the store. Investigators brought in the police dog, but the suspects were not located. The victim was not injured in the robbery. Police say the suspects are three black men in their early 20s. Volunteers are asked to work three-hour shifts at a kettle. The annual Kettle Drive, the Salvation Army's largest fundraiser runs from Nov. 21 to Dec. 24. All money raised goes towards the Salvation Army's Community & Family Services for programming and direct services to those in need in our community. The volunteer opportunity is a chance for individuals, families, community groups and students who need to accumulate community service hours.
