The topic is The Internet -- Today's Evolution of Tomorrow's Menace? The prizes are Canada Savings Bonds worth $500, $350 and $150 for the top three finishers. The first-place finisher will be entered by the local service club into a district contest where a $2,500 scholarship is available to the winner. An international competition will carry scholarships worth up to $6,000. The annual contest is open to youths in Grade 7 to 12 who are under age 19. Essays must be no more than 500 words. "Prize scholarships of $1,000, $2,500 and $6,000 are available at club, district and international levels respectively," said contest chair Mike Hoshooley.
