Familiar rival stops atom AE Rangers at International Silver Stick After defeating teams from across North America to reach the final, the Oakville atom AE Rangers were denied a International Silver Stick championship by a provincial rival. The Whitby Wildcats edged the Rangers 2-1 in double overtime, the winning goal coming on a point shot that deflected off an Oakville defenceman's posterior and into the Rangers net. "A real bummer," quipped Oakville assistant coach Bob Randall. The Rangers are hopeful of a chance to avenge their loss to the Wildcats this spring as the two teams could potentially meet in the OMHA finals. In the meantime, head coach Scott Stevenson is proud of his team's accomplishment as International Silver Stick finalists.
