Mark Lukowski, CEO of the Christian Children's Fund of Canada (CCFC), is hoping the Markham-based agency can help Haitian children, families and communities who are in desperate need. The long-time Oakville resident said the agency has sent $25,000 to Haiti so far. The agency is part of the global ChildFund Alliance, which has contributed $400,000 in Haiti. Because the CCFC does not have a physical presence in Haiti it has partnered with Christian Blind Mission (CBM), which has been working in the Caribbean country since 1976. More than 200,000 people have died as a result of the 7.0 Mw magnitude earthquake. Lukowski said the organization is taking donations to the Haitian relief efforts. The CCFC was established nearly 50 years ago to fight poverty around the world by helping communities become self-reliant. To donate visit www.ccfcanada.ca.
