Husband and wife team Joseph Nahman and Hanne Olesen-Nahman opened Stone House in mid-January and bring a combined 65 years of experience in the hospitality industry. They also own the tremendously successful Lake House Restaurant on Lake Ontario in Vineland and, as Oakville residents they're excited to bring a similar experience to the Halton region. After an expansive renovation, the interior of Stone House offers guests a relaxing environment with cozy wood trim, plenty of charming stonework, comfortable booths and crisp white tablecloths. For special occasions, be sure to request one of the tables in the `Orient Express', a row of booths reminiscent of dining cars in the famous passenger train. Truly thinking of everything, Joseph had the ingenious idea to install a tiny light at each table, which guests can use to summon their server when needed. Stone House also offers a spacious private dining room, providing the ideal setting for business lunches, birthday celebrations and other special occasions. There is a separate sound system, 42" LCD TV and seating for as many as 35 people. What will surely make Stone House Restaurant one of Halton's favourites is the delicious menu that Joseph and Hanne have expertly crafted over the past eight years at Lake House. Some house favourites include the Baked Brie wrapped in Filo served with roasted garlic and cranberry, their Semolina Crusted Calamari with three dips and the Fettucine Marinara, a mouthwatering combination of P.E.I. Mussels, clams, sea scallops, clams and shrimp in a white wine tomato sauce. Every weekend Stone House guests can enjoy slow-roasted Prime Rib, a 16 oz. certified Red Angus Beef serving complete with all the trimmings. Joseph and Hanne both believe in serving the best of the best, and do not compromise on quality ingredients. "Our suppliers know that we only accept the very best," said Joseph. "We don't cut any corners. " In the kitchen is Chef Mitch Lamb, a Red Seal certified chef who is a welcomed addition to the team. "He's a real star," said Hanne.
