The Oakville Curling Club recently sent two Little Rocks rinks to compete in the KW Granite Club Bonspiel. Each team got to choose a country to represent, like the Olympics, and the Oakville rink that represented Ireland came out on top. Team Ireland, featuring Colin Hennessy, Sean Lewis, Keegan McEwen and Nathan Theobald, won both its games in convincing fashion. Team Ireland rocked a Brampton squad 9-3 in its first contest, then skunked another Brampton rink 11-0. Tessa Jensen, Zoe Myers, Guinevere De Witt and Jamie Jensen formed the other Oakville team at the bonspiel, representing Scotland. White Oaks grad Jaclyn Devreese was recently named the most valuable player of the Sheridan College Bruins women's volleyball team. Devreese, who played middle at Sheridan in her freshman year, was selected as team MVP by her teammates. She was also chosen by Sheridan coach Patrick Krychowski to represent the school at the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association all-star game at North Bay's Canadore College earlier in the season. Devreese has played rep volleyball since she was in Grade 7 at Montclair Public School. She began with the Oakville Thunder before switching to the Burlington Blaze. Sheridan's women's team earned its first playoff spot in 12 years this past season, advancing to the OCAA championship tournament before falling to Nipissing and Durham. www. com HURRY!
