Emergency workers not only closed the road, but proceeded to contain the nearby area as it was initially unclear as to what material the rig was carrying. The wreckage was finally cleared and the road re-opened at 11 p.m. Both the trucker and the firm that owns the tanker face charges. For story, see page 13. Walk of Hope to end nightmare of schizophrenia By David Lea OAKVILLE BEAVER STAFF Imagine being trapped in a nightmare you cannot awaken from and that is so real you do not even know it is a fantasy. For Oakville native Patricia Purshouse, 40, no imagination is necessary. Purshouse has schizophrenia, a brain disease that causes people to hear, see, smell and even feel things that are not real. It also affects perception, causing people to believe certain things are happening that are not. Purshouse, who now receives treatment for the disease, spoke about her experience with schizophrenia, last week, to promote this year's Walk of Hope, a charity walk that raises See Removing page 3 The new president of Sheridan College, Jeff Zabudsky, told a breakfast meeting of the Oakville Chamber of Commerce last week that he looks forward to working with the Town, the Chamber and the business community Jeff Zabudsky "to advance this community's economic development goals." Noting that he feels like he is among friends, Zabudsky said he usually gets involved with the local Chamber because "it's a wonderful way to know business and community leaders." Zabudsky called Sheridan one of the gems of the system.
