E very day the heart, feelings, beliefs and dreams of someone are pierced by the thoughtlessness of another. Why does this happen is the question most commonly asked. The answer is some people, kids, teenagers and adults, decide that it is fun to point at and make fun of people they deem different than themselves. Sometimes that reaction stems from the fact that they themselves were picked on at sometime. and not Usually it is born of ignorance another. understanding Most people in society make daily efforts to fit in. People like to feel wanted and to have a sense of belonging. For many, the effort comes with a significant personal investment. Most of us are aware of the fact that the people who make up our community are all quite different. Some people don't take the time or make the effort to understand others. Some find insults more expedient, which create distress for the people involved. People are all pretty much the same. So, if you see someone, whether on the street, in the mall or at school, making fun of someone, please take the time to correct them. Ask yourself and those others if that is the way they would want to be treated. In the end, my point is to bring awareness to the way we treat each other. I hope it will give a good perspective and make a difference. * FREE DAILY SERVICE Morning and afternoon departures to Fallsview Casino *After $10 Casino Rebate Government Photo ID required Tuxedo and White Gloves The Sweet Life of Tuxedo and White Gloves presents a women'sonly fundraising event in support of Walls of Hope on Friday, June 25.
