The aim of this study is to take an integrated approach to the planning and asset renewal of the pumping stations within the drainage areas of the Burlington Skyway, Oakville Southwest and Oakville Southeast Wastewater Treatment Plants. The Master Plan deterioration of pumping stations, capacity demands (current and future) and operational options for the Sustainable Halton Water and Wastewater Servicing Master Plan Study. Halton Region has initiated a Class Environmental Assessment to consider transportation corridor improvement options to satisfy future travel demands on Trafalgar Road from Cornwall Road to Highway 407 (see map below). In 2002, Halton initiated a Class Environmental Assessment for improvements to Trafalgar Road from number of studies were initiated or completed which have resulted in the need to expand the study Trafalgar Road from Cornwall Road south of the QEW, northerly to Highway 407. alternatives will be examined, including roadway widening and/or reconstruction, bus rapid transit, and intersection improvements. The study will also examine the impact of such improvements on the social, natural, cultural and economic environments. The Process The study is being conducted in accordance with the requirements for master plans under Section 4, Approach #2 of the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (Municipal Engineers Association 2007), which is an approved process under the Ontario 2 of the Municipal Class EA process. As such it will identify a range of servicing strategy solutions, evaluate the proposed alternative solutions, and recommend a Preferred Servicing Solution. Public consultation is an integral part of the planning process. Process This study is being conducted in compliance with Schedule `C' of the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (October 2000, as amended in 2007), which is approved under the Ontario Environmental and determine a preferred solution in consultation with the Town of Oakville, regulatory agencies, and the public. If you cannot attend and would like to provide comments, please forward your comments in writing by June 30, 2010 to the Regional Municipality of Halton at the address below. in light of comments received and the preferred planning alternative will be determined. A second PIC regarding the second PIC will be advertised as the study progresses. The PICs will provide an opportunity to review and comment on the decision making process for evaluating the different conceptual alternative solutions in the three drainage areas of Oakville and Burlington. Preliminary recommended servicing solutions for each of the drainage areas will also be presented. Representatives from Halton Region and its consultants will be available to provide information and answer questions. Upon completion, a Master Plan Report will be prepared to document the planning process followed, including conclusions and recommendations, and how public input was received and addressed. The Master Plan Report will be available for public review for a minimum of individuals on the project contact list.
