GORAL, Ignace - Born on May 24, 1928 in Kudr yn, Poland. Passed away peacefully at Oakville-Trafalgar Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, August 4, 2010. He will be dearly missed by Loretta, his beloved wife of 50 years, by his sons, Eugene and wife Barbara, Zenon, and Michael and his wife Patricia, grandchildren Aidan, Halle and Tyson, nephews Karol and John Nawarynski, and many nephews and nieces in Poland. Ignace overcame many obstacles and much adversity during his life. He was imprisoned in a forced labour camp in Germany during World War II. After the war, he spent many years in refugee camps throughout Germany before coming to Canada. He made many friends over the three decades he worked at the Ford plant in Oakville. And "Ziggy" (as he was affectionately known) made many more friends in the last three decades living at Pinedale Estates, a place he was happy and proud to call home. Ignace was an active member of the Oakville Branch of the Polish Alliance of Canada for over 50 years and served in many executive positions during that time. In the summer of 2008, the Government of Poland, with the approval of the Government of Canada, awarded Ignace the Golden Cross of Merit Medal for his more than 50 years of volunteer service to the Polish Community in Canada. We will always love him dearly and remember him fondly. He taught us so many things. We know he will walk with God. It was Ignace's wish to be cremated with no public visitation or ser vice. If desired, donations to Oakville-Trafalgar Memorial Hospital in Ignace's memor y would be greatly appreciated.
