Bolton Camp, founded in 1922, is remembered by most as a camp for under-privileged Toronto children provided by the Star Fresh Air Fund. (The Fund was established by The Star’s first publisher Joseph Atkinson in 1901)
Along came the WWII and it served another purpose. It was a Cadet Training Centre to which the Oakville High School Cadet Corps traipsed off to one summer. We went by “Troop Train” and got our first taste of a “Route March” from the Bolton Station to the campsite.
