- Several generations of the Lawrence family. L-R; Orange Lawrence, Jr., John Lawrence, Mary Lawrence, Ferris Lawrence, Albert Lawrence, Hannah Fletcher Lawrence.
Orange and Sarah's children were Mary, Cyrus, Esther Ann, Rhoda, Ferris, Frances, Charlotte, Orange Jr., - all born in Hammondville, Trafalgar Township before the move to Orangeville. Sarah was born also in Trafalgar Township after the move to Orangeville, on December 13, 1846, she died age 43 in 1890.
- Notes
- In 1815, Orange Lawrence and his wife, Sarah, came from the United States. In 1823, they settled on a farm near Hammondsville, later renamed Sheridan, Lot 1, Con. 2, SDS, south of Dundas Street, Trafalgar Township. The farm remained in the possession of the family until 1977. In 1844, Orange and Sarah moved to found Orangeville.
Please note the Mary who was the daughter of Sarah and Orange and who married Thomas Jull, living at Lot 5, Conc. 2 SDS, Trafalgar Township, was born on October 11, 1822 and died on March 29, 1904. - Subject(s)
