YOGA FOR WOMEN: Creating Space Yoga Studio stu- dents recently participated in one of two restorative yoga karma classes, which raised donations and awareness for the Halton Women's Place shelter. The Chartwell Road yoga studio intro- ducted restorative yoga to its schedule this winter and all pro- ceeds of the two classes go to the local shelter. Restorative yoga aims to offer people who are over stressed and over fatigued the antidote to stress relaxation or deep rest. Restorative yoga poses help relieve the effects of chronic stress by supporting the body with props and blankets, rather than stretching, to create the con- ditions for a release in the body. Here students are seen in the final pose of the class, in deep relaxation.
