He is Born, A Movie Musical features the voices of Oakville performers creating a live soundtrack to a film screening, at the Joshua Crossing Church Sunday, Dec. 19 at 7 p.m. Performers will include the Oakville Gospel Choir, Toluw A. Fiasco and Liz Loughrey. The event is free, but a freewill offer- ing will be accepted. The church is locat- ed at 3301 Trafalgar Rd. Annual Christmas art show on now The Oakville Art Society is currently hosting its annual members Christmas show, which closes Saturday, Dec. 18. The show opened earlier this month and features the works of its members, including paintings, pottery, jewelry , sculpture and photography. On display and for sale are original art works and one-of-a-kind gift choices. The art society gallery is located at 560 Bronte Rd. Festive exhibit at Abbozzo Gallery Oakvilles Abbozzo Gallery is hosting an ongoing exhibition thats aimed for those who wish to give the joy of art this Christmas season. The Holiday Exhibition is on until Jan. 8 at the gallery and features the work of Cora Brittan. The artists work features colourful pictures, including those with a winter and holiday theme. Christmas at the centre The centre hosts a variety of Christmas shows each year and there are still a number of performances coming up before jolly old Santa Claus drops down the chimneys on Christmas. Heres whats still available. On Saturday, Dec. 18, the centre will host the performance of The Last Christmas Turkey, a story about a prize turkey destined for the church supper that goes missing. The show is recom- mended for ages eight and up. The show starts at 2 p.m. and tickets are $19.99. Sunday, Dec. 19 will feature the Holly Cole Trio Christmas concert. The show starts at 8 p.m. Regular tickets are $79.99 with discounts available. Then on Tuesday, Dec. 21 the centre will host tenor John McDermott in a pair of concerts of music and stories. He will be joined by musical guests Dan Hill, Rosie Mackenzie, Jason Fowler, Ray Legere, George Koller, Brian MacMillan and Gary Craig. Messiah concert by ensemble The Oakville Ensemble will be per- forming George Frideric Handels Baroque Era masterpiece of Messiah again this holiday season after a highly popular concert a year ago. The concert will take place on Saturday, Dec. 18 at St. Johns United Church, 262 Randall St., at 7:30 p.m. The concert will feature sopranos Catherine Arcand and Cher Farrell, alto Erika Bailey, tenor Michael Taylor and bass Bob Knight along with the profes- sional choir and orchestra.
