For more information on the boat types and builders, the fish, and the industry, please click on the links provided here in this record to the informative article by Andrew Armitage, "Bronte - A Fishing Village" and the Oakville Trails "Bronte Harbour" website.
See Also the book by Philip Brimacombe, The Story of Bronte Harbour, Oakville Historical Society & Boston Mills Press, c1976, which confirms that these fishing huts and the reels for drying nets were still in place and use on the East Pier circa 1950.
The building and smokestack of the Bronte Steam Mill is visible, it opened in 1858.
- Notes

Bronte Post Office was located on Bronte Road, south of Lakeshore on the west side. It was closed in the 1960's when Oakville took over Trafalgar Township.
