Flynn supporters who were fixated on a mammoth video screen at the back of the banquet hall where the results were being displayed, broke into thunderous applause whenever the reports flashed Flynn's numbers. "I'm feeling great now," said Sean O'Meara, Flynn campaign worker and constituency assistant. "We worked so hard for this. Kevin worked so hard for this." Finally, at approximately 10 p.m., it was announced that a number of media networks were calling Flynn the winner in Oakville. Shortly after Flynn's arrival, Scott arrived at the party to congratulate Flynn on his victory. The two could be seen shaking hands and exchanging words after which Scott could be heard saying, `Thank you' before departing into the evening. Scott was not the only one to offer congratulations. "Kevin is the people's champion," said Ward 6 Town Councillor and former federal Liberal candidate Max Khan. With the election won, Flynn went to the podium at the back of the room and addressed his elated supporters. "This is the night you were hoping for?" asked Flynn, to the roaring cheers of the crowd. "Some people said we couldn't do this. Some people said they wouldn't send a Liberal government back to Queen's Park, they wouldn't send an MPP back to Queen's Park three times in a row...they were very wrong and they were wrong because we were right." Flynn said some of the things he would like to focus on over the next four years include improving children's mental health, seeing the new Oakville hospital finished, seeing the full implementation of full-day JK-SK and full-day programs for kids in Grades 1-8, and an expansion of the Green Belt.
