The interactive workshop will provide real life examples of issues facing LGBT communities every day. Participants will learn from experts, such things as practical and effective ways to create and maintain an LGBT inclusive workplace. The workshop is for members of any level within an organization, such as volunteers and frontline workers to management and board directors. The trainer at the event will be Devan Nambiar of Rainbow Health Ontario. A speech will be given by Shoshana, a senior transwoman who has seen struggles in her life to become an outspoken member of the LGBT community. The workshop will take place at St. Aidan's Anglican Church, located at 318 Queen Mary Dr. The cost to participate is $35, with limited space so people are encouraged to register early. The workshop will start with registration and networking from 8:30-8:45 a.m., followed by the workshop from 9 a.m. to noon. People are asked to bring their business cards and agency brochures. The study has been conducted in compliance with Schedule C of the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (October 2000, amended 2007), which is approved under the Ontario Environmental Assessment Act. Taking into consideration the comments that were received from the Town T T of Oakville, regulatory agencies and the public, Halton Region is recommending a preferred design which includes the widening of Upper Middle Road to a 4-lane urban cross section and a multi-use path on the north/west side of the roadway. The Process The Environmental Study Report (ESR) has been prepared to document the planning, public consultation and decision making process undertaken for this study. By this Notice, the ESR is being placed on the public record for a 30-day review period in accordance with the requirements of the Municipal Class EA. Subject to comments received as a result of this Notice and the receipt of necessary approvals, Halton Region intends to proceed with the detail design and widening of Neyagawa Boulevard as documented in the ESR.
