We are therefore pleased to provide public access to our executive agreements and related compensation policies." The information released by this disclosure includes Oliver's contract, dated Nov. 1, 2011, which states that, as president of HHS, he is entitled to an annual base salary of $474,796. The contract does not mention how much Oliver receives in benefits, simply stating that, as president, he is entitled to a standard employee benefits package as is generally available to all non-unionized employees of Oakville-Trafalgar Memorial Hospital (OTMH). Other contractual items include six weeks of paid vacation per year and an agreement by the hospital to pay the fees necessary for Oliver to maintain his designation as a chartered accountant with the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants. The hospital also covers Oliver's membership fees to the Canadian and American Colleges of Health Services Executives. Oliver's contract points out that if he were to be terminated without cause he would be provided with a maximum 12-month severance at full salary and benefits. This severance also applies to other members of the HHS senior management team, but only if they are terminated without cause. Benefits for the family of a CEO, who was terminated without cause, would appear to last a little longer. "The hospital will ensure continuing family benefits coverage to the extent permitted by the respective carriers and pursuant to the applicable policies from the date of termination up to and including Feb. 9, 2021 under the hospital's group health, drug and dental benefit plan subject to the president paying full premium costs for the period after the date of termination," reads the contact. Another part of the contract said, in recognition of Oliver's 20 years of exemplary service and leadership at the hospital, and in recognition of his contribution to the development of the new Oakville hospital, the hospital commits to naming the new Oakville hospital auditorium, the John Oliver Auditorium. In a policy statement, HHS said it is its intent to establish and maintain compensation principles that will attract, retain and motivate excellent people who will lead and work with others See Handful page 5 FACTORY AUTHORIZED SALE!
