Board sets dates for Ward 4 boundary review With a boundary review for public elementary schools in northwest Oakville coming soon, the Halton District School Board has set out some dates for the Boundary Review Committee (BRC). The first meeting will take place Monday, Jan. 30. All meetings take place in the library of Abbey Park High School. Due to enrolment pressures in the community, the board is conducting the review that may change the boundaries of several schools. The review includes the following schools: Abbey Lane, Pilgrim Wood, Heritage Glen, Emily Carr, Forest Trail, Palermo, West Oak and Captain R. Wilson public school. The review will examine options and recommend an implementation plan for September 2012 for re-direction of some students to better balance enrolment in the neighbourhood. The BRC will have representatives from each school, including two parents/guardians selected by the school council. The committee will be co-chaired by board superintendent Odette Bartnicki and trustee Kelly Amos. The BRC will make a recommendation to the Boundary Review Steering Committee, which will provide a recommendation to the director of education. The director will bring a recommendation to the board of trustees who will make a final decision. The BRC dates are: Monday, Jan. 30; Thursday, Feb. 2; Monday, Feb. 6; Thursday, Feb. 9; and Tuesday, Feb. 21.
