The new rules aim to identify potentially dangerous coyotes and to stop coyotes from becoming dangerous in the first place. As part of the initiative, Town Council passed a bylaw at a meeting Monday night that makes it an offence for anyone to feed coyotes on public land. Such feeding includes coyote: Spotted near intentional feeding as well Fourth Line last December. as unintentional feeding -- or littering. According to Town staff, those found in violation of this bylaw could face a fine of up to $5,000. On private property, prohibitions against feeding a coyote are already covered under the Town's property standards bylaw and residents found in violation could face a fine of $490. Earth Week cleanup in Oakville The 21st annual Earth Week Clean Up of 33 nature sites in Oakville has been organized for Saturday (April 21). The town-wide clean up has been led and co-ordinated by the Oakville Community Centre for Peace, Ecology, and Human Rights (OCCPEHR). The annual Earth Week Clean Up will be held at 33 parks, trails and streets across the town on from 9-11 a.m. The event is designed to promote awareness while encouraging environmental activism and beautifying the town. "Our beautiful local natural environment needs your attention.
