Chamber launches partnership The Oakville Chamber of Commerce will launch a partnership with McMaster University's DeGroote School of Business at a presentation Friday, May 4. The event will take place at the Oakville Conference Centre, 2515 Wyecroft Rd., and feature award-winning speaker, author and McMaster University Business Strategy Professor Dr. Nick Bontis, Ph.D. The professor will present on rising above the digital onslaught. The session will also include a workshop, hosted by DeGroote Professor Steve Howse, on selling strategically. The partnership is intended to help Oakville businesses compete in the knowledge-based economy by providing chamber members and their employees with a special chamber rate for DeGroote's Executive Education courses. "Launching this partnership at our annual Morning Power Session is a great fit as this interactive session will be presented by two of DeGroote's most popular business professors Dr. Nick Bontis and Steve Howse," said Wendy Rinella, chair of the Oakville Chamber of Commerce. Members of the public are invited to attend the Morning Power Session. Seats are available by registering online at www.oakvillechamber.com or events@oakvillechamber.com. Registration and a hot, buffet breakfast begin at 7:30 a.m., with the sessions running from 8-11:30 a.m. The cost is $55 for members and $65 for nonmembers. 21 · Friday, April 27, 2012 OAKVILLE BEAVER · www.insideHALTON.com Unique Loot Bag and Gift Ideas Organic Spa Parties Gluten Free Vegan Annual General Meeting Halton Museum Foundation Wednesday, May 16th, 2012, 7 p.m., Halton Region Museum (Kelso Conservation Area) A registered charitable organization, the Halton Museum Foundation was formed in 1998 to support Museum projects and provide an active volunteer resource base.
