Oakville's political leaders and Halton Healthcare Services (HHS) executives joined Minister of Infrastructure Bob Chiarelli, at the Dundas Street/Third Line site to participate in the ceremony and to recognize just how far the project has moved forward. "Developing a hospital of this type is an exceptional story of community leadership in every single case," said Chiarelli, speaking loudly to make his voice heard over the noise of a nearby cement truck and other construction vehicles. "This could not happen without community leadership." The minister congratulated those present for their commitment to contribute nearly $200 million towards the new hospital. The Town of Oakville has agreed to contribute $130 million while the Oakville Hospital gaining a footing: Ontario Infrastructure Minister Bob Chiarelli (centre) digs into wet cement at the ceremonial concrete pouring at the new Oakville hospital site.
