To amend the By-law to align it with Regional 2012 Development Charge By-law No. 48-12. TAKE NOTICE that the Council of The Regional Municipality of Halton passed By-law No. 78-12 on the 11th of July, 2012 under the Development Charges Act, 1997 (the "Act") in order to amend By-law No. 159-01, as amended, which establishes the Development Charges related to the Go Transit Services for the Regional Municipality of Halton (Go Transit DC). This By-law No. 78-12 comes into force on the 5th day of September, 2012. AND TAKE NOTICE that any person or organization may appeal this By-law to the Ontario Municipal Board under section 1 of the Act by ling with the Clerk of The Regional Municipality of Halton, 1151 Bronte Road, Oakville, Ontario, L6M 3L1 / fax: 905-825-8838 not later than 4:30 p.m. on the 20th day of August, 2012, a written notice of appeal setting out the objection to the By-law and the reasons supporting the objection. The complete By-law is available for examination at the Clers ofce 1151 Bronte Road, Oaville, Ontario, 6M 31 during regular ofce hours, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday. It can also be found on the Region's website: www.halton.ca An explanation of the development charges imposed and a description of the lands to which the By-law applies are set out below. OVERVIEW By-law 78-12 amends By-law 159-01, as amended, which is the Go Transit Development Charge (DC) for the Regional Municipality of Halton. By-law 7812 amends DC policies and related denitions in order to align it with Regional Development Charge By-law No. 48-12. Amendments include policies and denitions relating to redevelopment and to the residential dwelling categories (to combine two multiple categories into one and two apartment categories into one), as shown on Schedule "One" are based on the same cost assumptions used for By-law No. 159-01. LANDS AFFECTED This By-law applies to the lands in the geographic area of the Regional Municipality of Halton. A key map is not being provided in this notice as the amendments apply equally to all lands. The development of land in the Region may be subject to one or more development charge by-laws of the Region. The tool offers a bird's eye view of employment trends in Halton. GeoEmployment Viewer provides access to Halton-specific employment information by location, and is based on 2011 data collected by the Region's Planning Services Division through its annual employment survey. Halton Region uses the data to understand employment and industry trends, as well as employment densities within specific geographic areas. "The data provided through the annual employment survey helps us monitor the Region's economic health and report on industry sector composition and employment land use," said Halton Regional Chair Gary Carr. "Employment survey data is invaluable in guiding regional economic forecasts and infrastructure plans. Now planners, businesses, students and others with an interest in employment data can use this valuable resource for their own research and analysis." The GeoEmployment Viewer allows online visitors to display and interact with maps and data. Site visitors can search and locate specific data, such as type of building and employment activity, zoom in on a particular area on the map, as well as select and print reports and maps.
