SUTHERLAND, John Robert (Bob)Peacefully at home in Oakville, on January 29, aged 81. Beloved husband of Edith Hamilton. Dearly loved father and father-in-law of Jennifer Sutherland and Richard Wright (Bronxville, New York). Cherished grandfather of Stewart, Russell, and Christine. Dear brother of Ira Sutherland (Gananoque). Bob will be greatly missed by his many friends. Born in Vegreville, Alberta, Bob grew up in H a w k e s b u r y, O n t a r i o . H e a t t e n d e d Queen's University, graduating with a B.Sc. in engineering chemistry in 1947. For 35 years he worked for Shell Canada, Chemical Division, in Toronto, Vancouv e r, a n d M o n t r e a l . H e a n d h i s w i f e moved to Oakville in 1982. He served as President of the Probus Club of and as President of the Oakville Lawn Bowling Club. He was a long-time member of the choir of St. Jude's Anglican Church, Oakville. Visitation will be held at the Oakview Funeral Home, 56 Lakeshore Road West, Oakville on Thursday, February 1, 2007 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Funeral service to be held at St. Jude's Anglican Church, 160 William Street, Oakville on Friday, February 2, 2007 at 3pm. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Nature Conservancy.
