H e w i l l b e l o v i n g l y remembered by his wife of 61 years, Sheila, children Julie, Dave (Patti), and grandchildren Annie and Rachael. Born in London, England on January 20, 1920, 'Laurie' enlisted in the British Army at the age of 19 and served overseas as a member of the Royal Signals in North Africa and Italy. He emigrated to Canada (Toronto) in 1951 and worked as a compositor and proofreader for Cooper and Beatty and The University of Toronto Press. Laurie will be fondly remembered as an avid gardener, painter, square dancer, a lover of old movies and jazz and his beautiful watercolour Christmas cards. Laurie loved reading, politics, football, travel, and the view from the deck at the cottage in Haliburton. A memorial service will be held later in the fall at Ian Anderson House (on Winston Churchill Blvd). The family is deeply grateful for the great care provided by the staff at the hospice in his last days. Donations, if you wish, to Ian Anderson House would be well appreciated.
