Halton Regional Police said at some point between 9 a.m. and noon, suspect(s) entered the apartment and made off with a laptop. There was no sign of forced entry. The apartment owner was not home at the time of the theft. Police said a witness came forward and provided them with information about the whereabouts of the laptop. Later the same day, Abdul Moulvi, 21, of Oakville was arrested and charged with break and enter and possession of stolen property. · · · Halton police are looking for the individual responsible for the weekend break-in at Core Marketing Strategies office, located on Church Street. Police said someone entered the office and made off with computer equipment. The crime was not reported to police until employees returned to work on Monday. · · · A burglary interrupted by a homeowner in the afternoon of Wednesday, Jan. 23, has police searching for three suspects. Police said at around 1:30 p.m., two people attempted to enter a Birch Hill Lane home by breaking the glass insert of the front door. When that failed, the thieves went behind the house and forced open a double patio door. Once inside, police said, the individuals searched the home and swiped jewelry and electronics. They were interrupted, however, when the homeowner returned to the house. The suspects immediately fled the area and were last seen running to a vehicle where a third suspect was waiting. The first man is described as Asian, 20-30 years old, of average height with a heavy, round face and stocky build. He was wearing a toque and baggy clothes. The second man is described as having lighter skin and dark eyebrows and hair, with a stocky build and of average height. No description was available for the third man.
