Ma Concepcion Ala Gerente, known as Maricon to her family and friends, worked tirelessly to provide for her children and dreamed of a better future for them. Now, as she lies dying in a bed at Oakville-Trafalgar Memorial Hospital, Eli and Jodie Gilbert are trying their best to honour their former employee's Maricon Ala Gerante wishes. The Gilberts are bringing Maricon's children to her bedside before she dies and establishing a trust fund to continue the support their mom has always provided -- even from afar. Maricon left the Philippines to nd work when her two daughters, Lean, now Jodie Gilbert, and her husband Eli, visit Ma Concepcion Ala Gerente (known as Maricon) in Oakville-Trafalgar Memorial Hospital Friday.
