Just prior to 9 a.m., a citizen contacted Halton police to report what they felt were two suspicious buckets. Members of the Halton Regional Police Service Explosive Disposal Unit attended the scene moments later and found one of the buckets, which turned out to be filled with a beauty product, likened to mud used in facials. Officers determined the second bucket had been picked up by a garbage truck, but found it in the area of Kerr Street and Speers Road a short time later. Police eventually had the garbage truck driven to the Bronte Road dump where its contents were removed and examined. Officers determined the second bucket contained common household garbage. Police said they appreciated the patience of the public affected by closures associated with the incident. Three Oakville men are facing drug-related charges after Halton police carried out a search warrant at a Marlborough Court apartment and a Burlington storage unit Friday. The arrests follow a three-week investigation by the Halton Police Two District Strategic Support Group, which ended when police allegedly observed three men engaged in a drug transaction in the Marlborough Court apartment building's parking lot. Two men were arrested and police reported seizing approximately 5.5 ounces of cocaine, 69 oxycodone tablets, four grams of heroin and more than $1,000 in cash. A third man was arrested a short while later outside of his home. Investigation led to search warrants being issued for the Marlborough Court apartment where police allegedly seized a small quantity of cocaine. A second search was carried out at a storage unit in Burlington where investigators allegedly seized a Ruger .357 handgun with six rounds of ammunition, $45,000 in Canadian currency, 7 lbs. of marijuana, 11.5 ounces of heroin, 310 oxycodone tablets and 15 grams of crystal meth. The estimated street value of the seized drugs is $180,000. Adam Pinkus, 22, of Oakville, faces a charge of possession of a controlled substance (cocaine). Kyle Vanderploeg, 29, of Oakville, faces charges including: trafficking a controlled substance (cocaine), three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking (cocaine, oxycodone, heroin), and two counts of breach of probation. Aseff Muhit, 22, also of Oakville, faces charges of trafficking a controlled substance (cocaine) and five counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking (cocaine, marijuana, heroin, oxycodone, crystal meth).
