www.insideHALTON.com | OAKVILLE BEAVER | Thursday, May 9, 2013 | 20 Invitation to join CycloFemme for Mother's Day Residents interested in seeing some of the town's more scenic sites by bicycle are encouraged to participate in this year's CycloFemme Mother's Day Bicycle Ride. Those who wish to attend are invited meet at Heritage Square (Kerr Street and Florence Drive) on Sunday (May 12) at 12:45 p.m. The ride will start at 1 p.m. with the group leaving Heritage Square and following neighbourhood streets to the Oakville Museum on Navy Street. The museum will be welcoming anyone wishing to stop in for a visit. Those who want a longer ride can enjoy the second leg of the trip, which will see the group leave the museum and travel along Lakeshore Road to Gairloch Gardens, stopping for a time at the Oakville Gallery and then travelling back downtown. Riders are also reminded they can shop and dine in Kerr Village before the ride, and Downtown Oakville after the ride. "I heard about CycloFemme at the National Bike Summit in Washington, and thought it would be a great event to bring to Oakville," said Pam Damoff, co-founder of Cycle Oakville. "I'll be there and look forward to celebrating cycling with family and friends." CycloFemme is an annual Mother's Day ride uniting riders, regardless of gender, age, ethnicity or bicycle preference to share in the joy of cycling. With 160 rides in 29 countries around the world, Oakville is one of seven Canadian locations to take part in this annual event. For more information about CycloFemme visit www. cyclofemme.com. This ride will kick off Cycle Oakville's series of leisurely rides designed to encourage residents to shop, dine, explore and discover all that our Town and businesses have to offer.
