SCHNEIDER, Robert (Bob) Gordon 30 October 1951 - 26 April 2013 The family of Bob Schneider sadly announce his passing away, peacefully at his home, on April 26th, 2013. Having never been sick "a day in his life", he met each challenge of his battle with cancer courageously and his usual "don't worry about me" attitude. His journey was never alone. Bob was predeceased by his parents, Anton (1984) and Ann (1993), his brothers Anthony (Tony) Schneider (1997), Harold Schneider (2009), Harvey Rowley (2000), and sisters Delanne Meldrum (2004), and Colleen Schneider (in infancy). Survived by his sister Patricia Schermann, his Mother-in-law Teresa MacIsaac, sister's in law - Dolli Peers, Margaret Rowley, Linda MacIsaac, Cecilia MacIsaac-Zerr, and brother's in law Tom (Verna) MacIsaac, Rod MacIsaac, and many nieces and nephews. He was surrounded by the love of Bernice, his wife of 40 years, his daughters Andrea (Tim Trenholm) and Kim (Julian Henry), and his son Greg (Marian). His two grandchildren, Michael Gregory Schneider and Caleigh Teresa Henry brought him great pride and joy, and he was sad to leave before the birth of his third grandchild "baby Schneides #2". He was very proud of his children and always enjoyed "family time". Truly, the memories of many great "family adventures" will always be treasured as occasions of laughter and love, filled with rock and roll soundtracks. Perhaps Bob's greatest legacy are the countless life-long friends he leaves behind. Wherever he went and however hard he worked, he always incorporated "time for fun" and always came home with stories of new friendships made. These friendships were ever present throughout his illness, and his family is so grateful for the outpouring of prayers, best wishes, food hampers, numerous visits, phone calls and support received. Even though Bob will be dearly missed, we take solace in the knowledge that he truly "lived", perhaps more than most, in the time he was given. The family received friends at the Glen Oaks Memorial Chapel and Reception Centre , 3164 Ninth Line, Oakville, on Tuesday, April 30th, 2013 from 4:00 - 7:00 pm (Prayers at 6:15pm). A Funeral Mass will be held at Mary Mother of God Catholic Church, 2741 North Ridge Trail, Oakville on Wednesday, May 1st, 2013 at 11:00 am. Cremation and interment will be a private family event held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, friends so wishing may make donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the St. Vincent de Paul Society at Mary Mother of God Church. Special thank you to all the supportive care provided by Dr. H Pyle, Acclaim Heath service providers, MHCCAC and Case Manager Marlene Grzesiak. You helped him live his final days with dignity. Reception following mass will be held at Monaghan's Sports Bar, 1289 Marlborough Ct., Oakville, Ontario. Online condolences and memories can be shared through www.glenoaks.ca.
