He and sweetheart Mrs. Claus, the Santa Claus Parade's Grand Marshall, will officially welcome the Christmas season along with thousands of people lining the Parade route in Downtown Oakville and Kerr Village. The Parade's theme, 'Celebrating 65 years,' promises to deliver one of the best parades ever seen in Town, with 50 uniquely decorated floats, costumed charcters and a full lineup of marching bands paving the way for Santa's eventual arrival. The Parade starts promptly at 9:00 am rain or shine - preceded at 8:30 am by the toy drive and food drive. It will begin at Lakeshore Rd. and Reynolds, go west on Lakeshore to Kerr St. and continue north on Kerr, west on Stewart, ending at the corner of Felan and Stewart St. Joining Mrs. Claus in the Cinderella carriage as Honourary Grand Marshall is 8 year old colouring contest winner Isabella Bavaro. Tween and teen items are especially needed. · Kids of all ages will want to purchase a rednose for $2 from the Fun Group of Family and Friends of Falgarwood. All monies generated will be donated to Wellspring Halton. As this group is the only authorized seller of red noses, please don't buy your red nose from somebody else. · This year, the Kin Club of Oakville invites you to "stuff a bus" for the food drive as they collect non-perishable food items for the Salvation Army in an Oakville Transit bus. They encourage everyone to bring at least one non-perishable food item to the Parade. Cash donations will also be accepted. They are excited to once again partner with Whole Foods Market Oakville, Oakville Hydro and Lockwood Chrysler, who are providing in-kind support for the food drive. · Look for the Toronto Rock cheerleaders helping to collect food with the Kin Club.
