www.insideHALTON.com | OAKVILLE BEAVER | Friday, November 22, 2013 | 14 Organizers `thrilled' to see teams growing every year for annual charity dip continued from p.8 continues to grow with former Toronto Rock goalie and current assistant coach Paddy Campbell joining in. "I'm excited to do something a little bit crazy on New Year's Day, and join Pam and her team at the dip," said Campbell, winner of the 2012 Les Bartley Award recognizing his character and commitment. Also joining her team this year will be Tom Linhares dressed as his alter-ego Gene Simmons. Linhares was the runner-up in the 2009 Oakville Santa Claus Parade "People's Choice Award" when he entertained the crowd as the KISS front man. He is looking forward to bringing that same enthusiasm to his first Polar Bear Dip. Damoff has had a professional videographer follow her exploits over the last two years. Oakville resident Kevin September has generously donated his time to film the team and the videos can be viewed at http://goo.gl/gHHmS2. He will be there once again this year to capture the excitement. Organizers are thrilled to see these teams grow. "We are very happy to have councillors Damoff and Duddeck involved in the event," said Dip cofounder Todd Courage. "Their support helps bring local and national media coverage to the Town of Oakville and the event on Jan. 1." Teams and individuals can choose to dress up and enter the popular costume contest, which takes place on stage at 1:10 p.m. Visit www.polarbeardip.ca to register your team today.
