"At first we were extremely shocked," Emma, 15, said of finding out she and her 16-year-old sister were among the finalists. "We were appreciative of the opportunity to share our story. Being named one of the top five finalists across Canada is very humbling." The national contest ran from September to November and asked for nominees who demonstrated "genuine goodness and going above and beyond to make a difference in their communities." The contest is now open for public voting on Facebook, http://goo.gl/8ezQOo, where the winning contestant's story will be featured in an upcoming Shreddies TV ad. "My sister and I read the stories of the other finalists, and it is an honour to be amongst these individuals who are doing good across Canada," said Emma. The other finalists include individuals from : Oliver, B.C.; St. Catharines, Ont.; North York, Ont.; and Brandon, Man.
