The Oakville band, comprised of Morgan Clamp, Kyle Hosick and Peter Wilhoit, will have its song This Heart featured in the opening montage of Hockey Night in Canada's broadcast this Saturday, Jan. 11 at 7 p.m. Kyle Hosick, the guitarist for the group, said the band received a call Monday from Torontobased filmmaker Tim Thompson, who creates the pre-game video montages for the show. Thompson expressed how he was a fan of the song and was excited to tell them he would be using the "rock anthem" to create a shower opener for Saturday's broadcast, said the White Oaks Sec- ondary School graduate. Thrilled to have the song shared to a wide audience after the disappointment that the band didn't even make the Top 10 of the Song Quest, Hosick said the band is making the song available on its website Classick.ca for free for a limited time. This Heart also received a mention on Canadian radio broadcaster Alan Cross's blog on Wednesday. Classick, formerly known as Bodies, has been together since the mid-90s performing and creating songs. It has performed at past Waterfront Festivals and other venues across Oakville. Hosick said the group's music style is influenced by bands from the 1970s and 1980s, everyone from ACDC to U2. Classick made the Top 50 of the Song Quest, which received nearly 1,000 entries from across Canada. Call for details VISIT OUR WEDNESDAY, Open House on February 5 HSC IS CLOSER THAN YOU THINK.
