The event takes place at the Oakville Arena, 133 Rebecca St., from 3-5 p.m., and will also include complementary popcorn and hot chocolate. This is the third year the Oakville councillors have hosted the family affair. The skates will be sent to children and youths in the Nishnawbe Aski Nation. People are asked not to bring hockey sticks, pucks or equipment for the skate -- wearing a helmet is recommended.
