BANKS, Barbara Surrounded by her family, it is with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Barbara Banks on February 6, 2014. Beloved wife of Douglas for over 40 years. She was greatly loved and will be greatly missed by her family: children Chris (Cheryl), Mike (Sam), Jason (Amy-Jean), Amy and Megan. She will be fondly remembered by her seven grandchildren-- Billy, Mickey, Leah, Jimmy, Tabitha, Jackson, Alison and by her siblings Jeannette (Tony) Piotto and Danny Forget. Predeceased by her mother Mary, father Julien and brother Andrew. Barbara, a 42-year veteran of Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital, will be remembered as a strong and determined woman devoted to the happiness and well-being of her family. She was a fighter and never gave up trying to overcome the obstacles that she faced. Most recently she won the battle against Lymphoma. Friends and Family will always think of Barb as a shopper extraordinaire, an avid bargain hunter with a flair for finding the best deals around. Thank you to all the doctors and staff at OTMH and Credit Valley Hospital for all your hard work over the years, and for never giving up on her. Visitation will be held for Barbara at the OAKVIEW FUNERAL HOME (56 Lakeshore Rd W, Oakville) on Saturday February 15, from 12-1 pm. A Memorial Service will follow in the chapel at 1 pm. Donations can be made to the Crohns and Colitis Society of Canada, Credit Valley Hospital or OTMH. Online condolences may be offered at www.oakviewfuneral.ca
