The spree appears to have started Jan. 7, when a man used a sledgehammer to smash the front doors to a Hasty Market at 1011 Upper Middle Rd., while it was closed. He then went to the front counter and loaded cigarettes into a large duf e bag before eeing. Similar break-ins occurred at the same store Feb. 5, and twice at Mac's Milk, 511 Maple Grove Dr., Feb. 26 and March 25. Police believe the same individual is responsible for the break-ins. The man is described as having a heavy build and wearing a black balaclava and black gloves. He drives a dark-coloured SUV .
