MADONIA, Salvatore (Sal) Passed away peacefully on Sunday March 30, 2014, surrounded by his loving family, at Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital, Burlington at the age of 86. Beloved husband of his beautiful wife Laura (deceased) for 55 years. Loving Father of Laura Lewis (Murray) and Paul Madonia. Very special Papa to Walker and beloved Grandfather to Katheryn and Alex Madonia. Sal will be sadly missed by his many friends and family in the United States and Canada. Born on September 25, 1927 in New York to Gus and Anna Madonia, he lived most of his life in New York. He attended New York University (NYU) and obtained a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. In 1950, he joined Babcock and Wilcox and led a very successful career for 42 years in the United States and Canada. Sal lived his life through the words of Frank Sinatra, "I've lived a life that's full - I've travelled each and every highway. And more, much more than this, I did it my way." The family will receive friends at the Glen Oaks Memorial Chapel and Reception Centre , 3164 Ninth Line, Oakville, 905 257 8822 on Thursday April 3rd from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral mass will be held at St. Paul the Apostle Parish, 2265 Headon Road, Burlington on Friday April 4, 2014 at 11 am. Burial will take place at Glen Oaks Memorial Gardens.
