Announced Wednesday, Colborne will of cially begin her term Sept. 9 at the Chamber's annual general meeting, taking over from Orla Johnston. The incoming chair has served as Chamber vice chair since 2011 and as a board director. The more than 40-ft. tree currently stands in the 20-x-30-foot-backyard of a townhome on Grand Oak Trail. The residents say the massive tree is decaying and dying, and so fear for their children's safety. "It's a huge tree in our backyard," said Stephanie Everingham, who lives there with her husband Chris and their two chilStephanie Everingham dren, a two-and-a-half year old and six-month-old. "My children's bedrooms are in the back (of the home). If any strong wind or thunderstorm happens -- we don't know the integrity of those branches and how strong they are, if they'll withstand the weather. That's why I feel it's still a risk...
