JU N IO R ICE The Oakville Junior Ice team were blown away at home Saturday, losing both ends of a doubleheader to Bluewater, 7-0 and 4-0. But you still w on't find Bill Metcalfe, who coaches this team, phased. On the previous weekend, the Junior Ice raised eyebrows by traveling to Windsor, home of the first place team in the South Western Girls Hockey League (SW GHL) and tying one game 2-2 while only losing the other game 3-2. But while Bluewater isn't technically in first place, they were still the league's only undefeated team coming into Oakville. And coach Metcalfe says they are the team to beat not just in the SW GHL but in the province. "No one can touch them." « Barrie Erskine · O a kville B ea ver K im berley Insalaco of the Oakville Ice in action in a recent NW H L gam e against M ontreal Axion. who are tops in the eastern division. The Junior Ice, by contrast, have no university-aged play ers and 15 kids who are 15-and-under. Metcalfe said he liked the way his team fought back in the second game which, he said, was really a 3-0 margin until Bluewater was able to take advantage of a late double minor issued to the Junior Ice.
