The youths, whose ages are not known, were wearing life jackets as well as wetsuits when the two-man, high-performance sailing skiff tipped. The two did not suffer injuries in the incident that took place off shore from the harbour near Bronte Road and Ontario Street. The harbour's general manager Dan Miller and yard manager Alan Connelly were on shift when a call came in from a resident of a nearby apartment building, saying a boat had capsized near the harbour. The men headed onto the lake and quickly found the boys yelling and blowing their whistles. The teens were assessed by EMS but appeared to be in good spirits when their boat arrived back on shore. Miller said boats such as 29ers capsize on occasion but normally its operators can turn it back over. "Under normal conditions, you can right them again but it's... futile because every time you try to get it up, a big wave comes and knocks it back over again," he said. Oakville man's search for dandelions puts school on alert by Michael Gregory Oakville Beaver Staff A 65-year-old in search of dandelions for a recipe caused an Oakville public school to be put in a hold and secure late Monday afternoon. The incident occurred shortly before 3 p.m. when a man was spotted walking with a small kitchen knife along the Pilgrim Wood Public School fence line, near Third Line and Upper Middle Road West. The Halton police's canine unit responded and located the man in the trail area of the school. Halton District School Board spokesperson Marnie Denton said buses were held for a short while as the school remained in a hold and secure until approximately 3:45 p.m. The man was advised by police of the optics of walking around with a weapon in public and released without charge.
