The annual Courage Polar Bear Dip will celebrate 30 years of diving into the icy cold waters of Lake Ontario on Jan. 1, 2015. Registration is now open for dippers to sign-up, pay their registration fee and fundraise online at www.polarbeardip.ca. Registrants can create their own fundraising page and even set up a team and invite family and friends to join in the fun. "Our online registration last year helped to reduce lineups and wait times, and make things easier for everyone on Dip day," said Cheryl Singleton, one of the event organizers. "With this being our 30th anniversary, we expect more participants than ever so early online registration is highly recommended" Last year, more than 700 dippers braved the chilly waters of Lake Ontario and thousands more came to watch at Oakville's Coronation Park. The dip is organized by Oakville's own Trent and Todd Courage, who started the dip on a dare from their mother to "shakeoff the cobwebs after an intensely celebrated New Year's Eve." "(Last year) was another big success," said Trent. "It was the coldest Jan. 1 we've had in years, but we surpassed our goal and Halton.ca 311 raised more than $140,000 towards providing clean water in Rwanda." Over the past 30 years, the Courage Polar Bear Dip has grown to become Canada's largest charitable polar bear dip, with more than $1.2 million raised for clean water projects operated by World Vision Canada. Funds raised this year will support projects in Gashora and Rugarama, Rwanda. "So far, with the support of thousands NOTICE OF CONSTRUCTION Watermain on Dundas Street (Reg.
