Beginning a t noon, it is O akville's first youth festival and it will display the m any talents of local artists in visual a rts, perform ing a rts and the w ritten w ord with concerts, a rt shows a n d workshops. SOCMI performs at Abbozzo Thursday The visual and aural arts will be com plementing each other this Thursday at Abbozzo Gallery. Two students o f the Southern Ontario Cham ber Music Institute (SOCMI) will be perform ing at Abbozzo G allery in downtown Oakville. Brothers Iain and Mosgan MacKay will present a violin duo to accompany the art show Water, which is currently on display at Abbozzo. S O A lI is an intensive summer music program for pre-professional musicians over a two-week period. Fourteen-year-old Iain MacKay has been studying at the institute for three summers, though this is his older broth er Morgan's first summer. They will be performing on July 17 at 7:30 p.m. at Abbozzo Gallery, locat ed at 179 Lakeshore Rd. E. SOCMI stu dents will again be playing at Abbozzo Gallery on Aug. 15 and 22.
