The annual campaign, which funds the Salvation Army's programs throughout the year, brought in $87,681.18. "We're very appreciative of everyone who did donate," said Shannon Robinson, the Salvation Army of Oakville's community family and resources coordinator. Robinson said the Salvation Army will soon begin working on its budget. It will start with the disadvantage of having $23,000 less than last year when the kettle campaign brought in $110,000. Robinson said an evaluation of this year's campaign will also take place. "As a team, we'll try to figure out why we had this outcome, whether it was a lack of volunteers or whether it was the economic situation, and then come up with some strategies to improve." The Salvation Army's food bank is the main program funded by the kettle campaign, but it also supports the moms and tots camp and children's adventure camp, and the Christmas assistance program. Though the kettle campaign is over, the Salvation Army still accepts donations at its 1225 Rebecca St. location. Robinson said the Salvation Army's toy drive was once again very well supported. With donations from the community, the Salvation Army was able to provide toys to more than 430 families that registered with it. "We're very grateful for the support of the community," she said. Donations to the Oakville Salvation Army Christmas Kettle campaign were down 20 per cent over the holiday season. | Oakville Beaver file photo 905.334.3617 · Oakville, ON cleblanc@hotmail.ca · Auto$retail & Service 5.00 Off Oil · Large Selection of vehicles to Change & e-TesTs Suit every budget · Auto retail & Service · Provide up to 5 · Financing · Large Selectionprovided of Years warranty on · vehicles Provide up to 5 Years warranty on to Suit your vehicle after every budget inspection your vehicle after inspection · Financing · $500 offprovided Oil Change & E Tests Come see why we have been voted best optiCal stoRe sinCe 1994! a wide variety Of deSigner BrandS: www.rosaauto.ca www.rosaauto.ca rosa_auto@yahoo.ca 1071 Speers Road 905-337-9339 1071 Speers Road Oakville's experts in eye Care: Denise pala, niCky pala & mike mCGrath · armaNi · Tory Burch · Versace · ray BaN · marc JacoBs · carrera · coach · Juicy couTure AnD mOre...
